If you asked Gil Johnson why he’s committed to improving his community, you’d learn that for him, community service is about strengthening the community through access to sustainable health care, with both current and future generations in mind.
Community Partnerships Help Medical Centres Thrive
The Queens General Hospital Foundation is dedicated to supporting community health organizations that are committed improving the health of Queens County residents, like the North Queens Medical Centre. The medical centre, which was built in 2000, provides residents of the North Queens region with the medical attention they need, close to home.
Queens General Hospital Foundation purchases new building for Community
The Queens General Hospital has new space for clinical or administrative use, thanks to the Queens General Hospital Foundation and members of the community who have supported the Foundation through their generous donations. The Foundation, which has supported the Queens General Hospital since 1988, has consistently supplied equipment, funded renovations and more recently helped recruit physicians and key health care workers for the hospital. Now, with the purchase of an adjacent building, the hospital has more flexibility to locate clinical services when needed.
